Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Hypokalaemia — diuretics, vomiting, diarrhoea, Conn's syndrome, refeeding syndrome, alkalosis, insulin excess.
High / Increased
Hyperkalaemia — AKI/CKD, Addison's disease, acidosis, haemolysis (spurious), ACE inhibitors, potassium-sparing diuretics.
