Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low — type 1 diabetes (absolute deficiency), late type 2 DM.
High / Increased
High — insulin resistance, early type 2 DM, insulinoma, Cushing's syndrome, PCOS, metabolic syndrome.
