About this test

Pro-inflammatory cytokine driving the acute-phase response and hepatic CRP synthesis. Rises earlier than CRP after an acute stimulus. Used in cytokine storm monitoring (COVID-19, CAR-T, sepsis) and guides tocilizumab therapy.
