Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Wilson's disease (low serum copper, but free copper elevated), Menkes disease, malnutrition.
High / Increased
Inflammatory state (ceruloplasmin is an acute-phase protein), chronic cholestasis, primary biliary cholangitis.
