Blood glucose measured at any time irrespective of fasting. A value ≥11.1 mmol/L with symptoms is diagnostic of diabetes.

Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Hypoglycaemia if <3.9.
High / Increased
Diabetes mellitus if ≥11.1 with symptoms; requires fasting glucose or HbA1c for formal diagnosis if asymptomatic.
