About this test

Natural anticoagulant inhibiting thrombin and FXa. Deficiency is a significant inherited thrombophilia risk factor. Also consumed in DIC and reduced in liver disease and nephrotic syndrome.

Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Reduced — inherited AT deficiency (thrombophilia), DIC, liver disease, nephrotic syndrome, L-asparaginase therapy, heparin therapy (modest reduction).
