Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low reticulocytes in anaemia — hypoproliferative (iron/B12/folate deficiency, aplasia, marrow failure).
High / Increased
High reticulocytes in anaemia — haemolytic anaemia, acute blood loss, treatment response.
