Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Leucopenia — viral infection, bone marrow failure, autoimmune, drug toxicity, sepsis (late).
High / Increased
Leucocytosis — bacterial infection, inflammation, corticosteroids, malignancy, physiological stress.
