Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Neutropaenia (<1.8) — viral infection, drug toxicity, autoimmune, congenital, bone marrow failure. Severe <0.5 = agranulocytosis.
High / Increased
Neutrophilia — bacterial infection, inflammation, steroids, physiological stress, myeloproliferative disease.
