Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Hypophosphataemia — vitamin D deficiency, hyperparathyroidism, refeeding syndrome, malabsorption, Fanconi syndrome.
High / Increased
Hyperphosphataemia — CKD (most common), hypoparathyroidism, rhabdomyolysis, vitamin D toxicity.
