Water-soluble bilirubin conjugated with glucuronic acid in the liver. Rises predominantly in intra- or extra-hepatic cholestasis.

Clinical Interpretation

High / Increased
Cholestatic jaundice — gallstones, bile duct obstruction, PBC, PSC, cholangiocarcinoma, drug-induced cholestasis.
