Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low — von Willebrand disease (type 1, 2, or 3), blood group O (physiological), hypothyroidism, post-plasma exchange.
High / Increased
Elevated — acute-phase reaction (vWF is an acute-phase protein), pregnancy, cardiovascular disease.
