About this test

Produced by ovarian granulosa cells of preantral and antral follicles. The best single marker of ovarian reserve. Low AMH indicates diminished reserve; high AMH suggests PCOS.

Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low AMH — diminished ovarian reserve, premature ovarian insufficiency, post-chemotherapy.
High / Increased
Elevated AMH — PCOS (generally >21–36 pmol/L), granulosa cell tumour.
