Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low SHBG — obesity, insulin resistance, hypothyroidism, androgen excess, nephrotic syndrome, liver disease.
High / Increased
High SHBG — hyperthyroidism, OCP, liver disease, ageing.
