Clinical Interpretation

Low / Decreased
Low — hypogonadism (primary: Klinefelter, testicular failure; secondary: pituitary disease, Kallmann's), obesity, chronic illness, ageing.
High / Increased
Elevated (female) — PCOS, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ovarian tumour, adrenal tumour, exogenous androgen.
